Newly promoted Uganda Premier League side Blacks Power FC has been under the stewardship of two coaches this season, Peter Onen and Hussein Mbalangu.

The former lasted only two matches before his contract was terminated and was succeeded by the latter, whose start to life at the club was also challenging.

However, the former Mbarara City FC manager is gradually putting things to order at Akii Bua Stadium and has fired back at criticism.

“Since joining this team, I have tried to change and improve several specialities,” Mbalagu opened up to Pulse Sports.

“Even in the lost games, you would catch a glimpse of hope that we are doing certain things better and would just be edged by the opponents from slight mistakes.”

“I was only two months old at this club by the end of the first round, and I can firmly say there is progression.”

Mbalangu added: “We made some recruitments which I think will make us a strong team, and we shall surprise many people going forward.”

The FUFA Big League champions are slightly above the relegation zone in 12th position on the 15-team UPL log with 12 points.

However, on Friday, they returned a different team going toe-toe with second-placed BUL FC at FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.

The visitors scored first through Dickens Okwir before Samuel Ssekamatte levelled matters for the hosts in a one-all stalemate.

It is against BUL that they endured a rough welcome to the UPL when the Oil Manufacturers humiliated them 5-0 in their backyard.

The Lira-based outfit is still in the Uganda Cup after edging out Bukedea Central in Round 64, and they will host Wakiso Giants FC in Round 32 on Tuesday.
