Victor Osimhen and Napoli have had an excellent campaign in Serie A, but after a sweet revenge for Monza begs the question, how many more records can they break this season?

Nigeria Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen and his SSC Napoli side are still celebrating but still have unfinished business this season in the Serie A.

Napoli and Osimhen were visitors at Monza earlier today with the Nigeria international in action for 80 minutes.

But it seems the Italian champions have had so much fun following a 2-0 defeat to Monza on Sunday afternoon. Both goals were scored in either half from the home side who continue to impress in their Serie A debut campaign.

While that result has no bearing on the title anymore, it means Napoli could miss out on some records in the Serie A this campaign.

With three games to go, Napoli could become just the fourth team in Serie A history to win 30 games or more in a single season.

The Partenopei boost 26 wins in 34 matches and travelled to Monza with seven clean sheets in eight matches in 2023.

  • Total Points in a season

Another record within the reach of Osimhen and his teammates after making their first trip to Stadio Brianteo since 1999 is to finish with as many points as possible.

Napoli is on course to finish with at least 90 points this season which will see them become only the 11th side to achieve that feat this season.

However, Osimhen and his teammates have now missed the chance to go level with giants Juventus as the joint-third.

Before the game against Monza, the Partenopei were still within the chance of getting 95 points. But their impressive hosts ended that dream with sweet revenge.

In summary, Nigeria’s Osimhen has played his role in getting Napoli this far, with the 24-year-old leading the lines superbly.

While he was expertly caged by Monza, with three games left to play, the Nigeria Super Eagles star still has the chance to add to his 23 goals tally in what has been a remarkable season.
