Murang'a Seal faces turbulence with a reported coaching change as they struggle to regain their form.

Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) side Murang’a Seal announced their top-tier arrival in style, achieving their lifelong dream of gracing the league.

Founded in 2016, Seal earned promotion to the country's top tier after finishing second in the preceding National Super League (NSL) season, just four points adrift of champions Shabana.

In their first five games, Seal proved their mettle in the fierce top-tier competition, registering three impressive wins.

However, turbulence struck along the way, and they have failed to secure a victory in their last six matches.

Currently sitting in the eighth on the league table with 25 points from 16 matches, they had at one point even enjoyed weeks in the top two positions.

The recent string of disappointing results, culminating in a 1-1 draw against AFC Leopards at their SportPesa Arena, led to the team reportedly sacking their head coach, Gabriel 'Kingi' Njoroge.

Njoroge, formerly the manager of Mathare United, oversaw 16 games, securing six wins, four draws, and facing five losses during his tenure.

The gaffer's reported departure signals a significant change in direction for the team, as they scramble to find a new leader who can steer them back on course. This change comes after Vincent Nyaberi, who had played a pivotal role in the team's promotion, was replaced by Njoroge.

Observers familiar with coach Njoroge describe him as a no-nonsense figure, and his exit from the team hints at a breakdown in relations between him and the Seal management.

During his time with the club, Njoroge remained steadfast in his support for the players, even during tough times.

"Nothing to panic about, it is part of football," he told Pulse Sports after a recent loss to Kenya Police FC.

"You have to understand football; there is loss, win, and draw. These are three things you have to accept in football," he added.

Njoroge also emphasized the team's resilience, stating, "What I would like to tell you about Murang’a Seal is that we are very new in this league and we are a very young team, but we are able to handle these big teams."

Club chairman Robert Macharia has grand ambitions for Murang’a Seal.

The team, whose name is an acronym for Sports Excellence Academy Limited, aspires to become the leading footballing academy in the region.

Macharia believes in the potential of the country's talented players to make an impact on the international stage if given the right grooming.

"We already have a master plan in place, and we are in the process of establishing the relevant infrastructure and selecting players on merit," Macharia stated as per The Star.

"We seek to mold players who will inspire upcoming generations of young people eager to pursue football as a career."

As the team faces a period of uncertainty and transition, it is clear that the future of Murang’a Seal will remain undeterred.

The sudden coaching change, with Dennis Wise Okoth stepping in on the sidelines, raises questions about the team's immediate stability.

Efforts to reach Chairman Robert Macharia for comments on Kingi's future at the club have been in vain, as phone calls have gone unanswered.

With Wise set to occupy the hot seat, the pressure is on him to deliver results that will leave the club with little choice but to appoint him on a permanent basis.

As they navigate these uncertain waters, the team's commitment to grooming young talent and making a mark on the footballing landscape remains undiminished.

Only time will tell whether they can weather the storm and emerge stronger, ready to write the next chapter in their remarkable story.
