Unpleasant reports have made rounds in Egypt that Uganda Cranes attacking midfielder Travis Mutyaba is absent without official leave (AWOL) at his new club Zamalek SC.

Journalists in Egypt indicated that Mutyaba didn't return to the club after the international break as the Uganda Cranes lost 4-0 to Comoros and drew two-all with Ghana in Morocco on March 22 and 26, respectively.

He last made the Zamalek match-day squad on February 29 on his debut as they beat Abu Salim 2-1 in the CAF Confederation Cup.

However, Mutyaba's representative Dennis Namanya, has repelled the allegations, revealing that his delay to return to Egypt was Visa related.

"It's not true that he has been absent without official leave, people just talk," Namanya disclosed to Pulse Sports Uganda.

"He has been in the country (Uganda) awaiting his visa because he didn't have a work permit," Namanya added.

"But, he boarded on Saturday and was at his club yesterday. There are no issues," he assured.

Mutyaba joined Zamalek at the start of February this year in a big-money move on a long-term four-and-a-half-year employment contract.
