The majority continue to doubt Asubo Gafford Ladies FC's potential to survive relegation in the FUFA Women's Super League.

However, winger Kumiyat Naigaga is convinced they will still be playing in the FWSL next season.

"When I joined this club, I knew about their troubles, especially when it comes to the table standings of the FWSL," Naigaga told Pulse Sports before adding.

"But when you look at it closely, there are high chances that we will stay up now that we have started picking up points."

She added: "The game against Uganda Martyrs was my debut, and I saw how all my teammates performed. It was promising, and if we continue like this, we will not only survive but also finish in a good position."

Naigaga was amongst the scorers during her side's 3-1 victory away to Uganda Martyrs last weekend when she ran through on goal from the centerline and scored a beautiful solo goal.

It was Asubo's only second win of the season, and they are rock bottom of the 10-team log with seven points after 11 games.

But a comfortable victory over the league's second-placed team is motivational enough for them to fight on and avoid an immediate drop, having been promoted at the start of the season.

They are just four points below the red zone with seven games to go until the end of the season. Asubo's next match will be at home against Uganda Christian University Lady Cardinals on March 5.
