Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly reignited interest in Chelsea's star after a move in the January transfer window broke down.

Paris Saint-Germain will reportedly make a move for Chelsea's Hakim Ziyech in the summer following a failed move last transfer window.

The 30-year-old was set to join the Parisians in the winter, following a notable World Cup outing with Morocco, but an error in filing the necessary paperwork saw the move break down on deadline day, but Paris Saint-Germain, according to the reports, have not given up on their man.

ZIyech set for future outside the Stamford Bridge

Football insider reports that PSG are expected to reignite their interest in Hakim Ziyech, and could be keen for a move in the summer.

The Parisians did not stop monitoring Ziyech, according to reports, and are weighing up another bid for the summer.

The French side are keen on making offensive additions, and due to FFP regulations, they are limited to low-cost additions, and Ziyech is expected to cost less than £30 million.

Chelsea are not expected to block the move as they are preparing a large-scale overhaul this summer to cut down on their bloated squad and bring in capital gains to offset losses made in back-to-back seasons.

The failed move

Before the deal broke down, Paris Saint Germain were set to sign Moroccan star Hakim Ziyech on loan till the end of the season after reaching an agreement with Chelsea.

The deal was being reported as a simple six-month loan deal till the end of the season without an option or obligation to buy.

PSG were reportedly paying some unspecified amount as a loan fee and were presumably also covering Ziyech’s not inconsiderable wages

Acclaimed transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the deal had gone through before the transfer window shut on deadline day with a tweet.

The Italian journalist tweeted, "PSG are set to sign Hakim Ziyech, here we go! Deal agreed and unlocked on a loan move until June, NO buy option clause included."

Fabrizio's tweet also revealed that the Chelsea payer had already undergone a medical in Paris ahead of the loan switch.
