Fabrizio Romano suggests Manchester City are planning to intensify their efforts to sign one Premier League star to replace departing Kevin De Bruyne.

Manchester City are reportedly preparing to advance their interest in Nottingham Forest attacking midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White as the summer transfer window approaches.

The 25-year-old is understood to be a key target for the Cityzens as they look to rebuild their squad.

Fabrizio Romano suggests that the club are planning to step up their pursuit of the England international in the coming weeks.

Negotiations regarding personal terms with the player are not expected to pose any significant issues, thereby encouraging the dethroned Premier League champions.

However, Man City still face the task of agreeing a deal with Nottingham Forest. The Midlands club are understood to be hopeful of retaining Gibbs-White, who is contracted at the City Ground until June 2027.

Gibbs-White has been a standout performer for Forest, who have exceeded expectations in the Premier League this season and are in contention for Champions League qualification.

What’s next for Man City?

Guardiola's side will face Southampton in the Premier League on May 10, seven days before the FA Cup final.
