"It's been a season of ups and downs as usual but let's just say it's been a great ride thus far, however, the job isn't finished yet," Lwanga told Pulse Sports from his base in Kigali.

"We've reached the final bend of the season and this is when we have to concentrate a lot and I am glad every one of us is on board."

APR FC who on 49 points, have an eight-point lead atop the 16-team league, with a game in hand, are still recovering from a shock elimination from the domestic cup by Gasogi United in the quarter finals.

However, Lwanga adds that it can only motivate them to conclude the season on a high.

"It was a bitter pill to swallow but it is also motivation for us to do better. I always strive to do better," he noted.

Lwanga who has featured in over 15 games for his side across all competitions this season will hope to claim another league title with a different side having won with Vipers in Uganda and with Simba in Tanzania.

The former Vipers and Express FC captain who joined the Lions in July 2023 has proved to be a vital addition to the side especially with his experience in the midfield and leadership.
