Royal Giants came from a goal down to edge Libya 1 Primary School from South Sudan to reach the semifinal of the CAF African Schools Football Championship CECAFA zonal qualifiers.

The Ugandans went continued pressing and were lucky deep in extra time when Jovan Katuramu connected in an Enock Bagenda pass for the winner. Giants will face Ethiopia’s Geda Roble SS in the final to be played at the Azam Complex later on.

In the girls' category, Amus College's hopes of flying to the continent ended following their 2-0 loss to Awaro School from Ethiopia in the semifinal. They’ll play Kiramuruzi from Rwanda for a chance to win $50,000 (Shs. 185M).
The winners will join seven others from around Africa at the 2023 CAF African Schools Football Championship. The tournament will be played in Egypt in April.
