The Law Enforcers made light work of the basement club as they returned to winning ways after last weekend’s setback

Kenya Police FC returned to winning ways in ruthless fashion when they put basement side Vihiga Bullets to sword following a 4-0 win in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) match in Vihiga on Wednesday.

Police made their intentions known early when Duka Abuya slotted home the opener after just 13 minutes following a lovely exchange in the build-up and the Law Enforcers then doubled their advantage seven minutes before the break when Francis Kahata made it 2-0.

With the commanding lead, Francis Baraza made three changes to his side after halftime, with Musa Mohammed coming off for Harun Shakava, Marvin Nabwire for Derrick Otanga while David Okoth was replaced by Alvin Mang’eni in a bid to freshen up things.

However, the second half was not as action-packed as the first, Police opting to slow down the tempo of the game although they still hogged possession.

There were no further attempts on either goal until the 74th minute when substitute Mange’ni capitalised on poor defending to slot home the third goal before Elvis Rupia made it 4-0 effortlessly.

A lofted ball in the box saw the Vihiga defenders fail to deal with the danger and the ball fell to an unmarked Rupia in the box. The former Nzoia Sugar and AFC Leopards forward tapped in to add further gloss to the scoreline.

Victory sees Police consolidate fifth place on 43 points from 24 matches as they returned to winning ways after last weekend’s 1-0 loss to title chasers Tusker FC.

The win is perhaps good preparations for Baraza’s men ahead of Saturday’s top clash against another title contender Gor Mahia.

Cash-strapped Vihiga, meanwhile, remain bottom of the 18-team log with just eight points and look destined to return to the National Super League (NSL) after recording two wins in 25 matches.
