Shakira keeps breaking records with her music following her split from former Barcelona star Gerard Pique.

Shakira has been making big moves since her split from former Barcelona defender Gerard Pique.

Shakira and Pique called it quits after an 11-year relationship, with the Colombian popstar releasing a joint statement to confirm their separation.

Shakira reportedly ended her relationship with the 36-year-old Spaniard after he was alleged to have cheated on her.

However, following the split, Shakira reached another milestone in her illustrious music career.

Her album ‘Donde Estan Los Ladrones?’ recently surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify, becoming the first ’90s Latin album to reach this milestone. 

The 46-year-old singer and songwriter has been trending since her break up with former Pique, releasing diss tracks aimed at the former Spain international and his girlfriend Clara Chai Marti.

‘Donde Estan Los Ladrones?’, which roughly translates to ‘Where are the thieves?’, was released on September 29, 1998.

The project is Shakira’s fourth studio album.

 The album received critical acclaim as it was also nominated at the 41st annual Grammy Awards for Best Latin Rock/Alternative album. 

It also became one of the most popular albums of the ’90s as it sold over a million copies by the end of the first month of its release.

Since Shakira’s split from Pique she has released three tracks, ‘Monotonia, ‘Te Felecito’ and ‘Sessions #53’, all dissing her ex-partner.

The biggest song amongst all the three is ‘Sessions #53’ , the song has amassed over 403 million streams on Spotify. 

While the music video has garnered over 410 million views on YouTube. 

This particular diss track has also seen Shakira break 14 Guinness world records, four of which are jointly held by herself and the featured artiste Bizarrap.

She holds the rest 10 records individually. 

The track received 14.4 million streams in a single day and 80.6 million streams in a week.

The diss track which is reportedly aimed at Pique also broke the record for the fastest Latin track to reach 100 million views on YouTube. 

It reached the number in approximately 70 hours and broke the record for most views in 24 hours with 63 million in a single day on YouTube. 

Shakira also became the first female vocalist to debut in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 with a Spanish number. 

She also became the first female to replace herself at No. 1 on the Billboard Latin Airplay charts. 

The song also saw Shakira break the record for Most Top 10 hits by a female artist on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs and Latin Airplay charts.

How has Gerard Pique responded to Shakira?

Apparently, Pique is purely moving on from the split and is happy with his new girlfriend Clara Chai Marti.

Speaking recently about his current situation, Pique stated: “I keep doing what I want. The day I die, I will look back and hope I have always done what I wanted. I want to be faithful to myself. I’m not going to spend money cleaning up my image.”

 Pique is currently managing and organizing the King’s League, a 7-a-side competition held in Spain where there are multiple twists involved in the not-so-normal game of football.

Shakira and Pique met in 2010 started dating the following year and were together for 11 years. 

The ex-couple have two kids together, Milan and Sasha, who currently reside with their mother in Miami, United States.
