Alex Iwobi received praise from Rangers legend Kris Boyd for his important assist during Fulham's defeat on Saturday.

The Cottagers lost 2-1 to Brighton at the American Express Stadium in their Premier League clash with the Seagulls.

Jiménez scored the opening goal in the 35th minute, assisted by Iwobi's impressive solo run down the right flank from his half.

Jiménez received a well-placed pass from the Nigerian midfielder inside the box before controlling the ball with his chest and swiftly executed a low shot, beating Brighton's goalkeeper.

Boyd commends Iwobi

Jiménez's composed finish and Iwobi's delivery were commended by Boyd on Soccer Saturday.

He said, speaking to Sky Sports, "It's a top finish. The ball from Iwobi is good, but the finish is better. He chests the ball down before firing a left-footed strike into the back of the net.”

Iwobi, who has been a standout performer for Fulham this season, having scored seven goals in the EPL for Fulham this season.

Iwobi also took his assists to four in 33 matches this season, bringing his total goal contribution to eleven.

His impressive performance has seen him get included in the Super Eagles' 39-man squad for Nigeria's 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
