With a massive following in Tunisia and the Middle East, Esperance are always challenging for titles both at home and on the continent, helping them generate massive revenues from prize money, ticket sales and sponsorships, taking their market value to €19.85 million in 2025.

Pyramids have been showing ambitions, challenging for the Egyptian league, although they are yet to win it following a third place and a couple of second place finishes but in 2024-25, they have reached the CAF Champions League final.

Al Ahly are also the second most wealthiest club, having lost their top position by just a small margin in recent years, with their market value now at €33.90 million.

The “Team of the Century” was founded in 1907 and have gone on to win 44 league titles and 12 CAF Champions League crown, the most by any team, and continue to dominate year in and out.

Al Ahly have the best paid players on the continent and enjoy a huge support base which has played a major part in their success as they generate revenue from ticket and merchandise sales, sponsorships deals and prize money from the various competitions they feature in, in the country and abroad.

Perennial South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns are the wealthiest African football club in 2025 thanks to various factors that have helped them remain at the top of the tree.

Mamelodi Sundowns have a market value of €35.48 million as per Transfermarkt, and have the most expensive squad in Africa which is full of quality, enabling them to win the league every year.

Sundowns have just won an eighth straight Premier Soccer League title, taking their overall tally to 15, and are in the 2024-25 CAF Champions League final, looking to add onto their other continental title won in 2016 and if they do it, their value will increase even further.

Besides the deep pockets of its owner and chairman Patrice Motsepe, the Brazilians, founded in 1970, are also powered by key revenue generators such as deals with Puma, Hyundai, MTN and prize money from winning the league and reaching the latter stages of the Champions League every season.
