Rayon’s rivals APR also completed the signing of Ugandan midfielder Taddeo Lwanga, whose industry in midfield they will hope can help them retain the league title.

When the action of the next Rwanda Premier League season gets underway, several players from Uganda will be looking to make a mark.

The list of Ugandan players joining Rwandan teams continues to grow longer with each passing day.

Charles Bbale is the latest player to join a Rwandan side following his move from SC Villa to Peace Cup winners Rayon Sport.

At Rayon, Bbale will play alongside three other Ugandans, Joachim Ojera, Musa Esenu and goalkeeper Simon Tamale.

Ojera and Esenu were part of the Rayon team that defeated APR to lift the Amahoro Cup and will now be joined by two other countrymen to challenge for the league title.

Rayon’s rivals APR also completed the signing of Ugandan midfielder Taddeo Lwanga, whose industry in midfield they will hope can help them retain the league title.

Midfielder Muzamir Mutyaba is one of the players retained at Kiyovu Sports following a season that promised so much and delivered nothing.

The former KCCA player was part of the team that staged a title charge but fell short in the end.

He played alongside another Ugandan player in the shape of Erisa Ssekisambu, who has since been deemed surplus to requirement by the club.

Former Buddo SS and KCCA defender Samuel Kato Nemeyimana also plies his trade with Bugesera Football Club.

With the transfer window still open, there are more Ugandan players linked to Rwandan sides, and the numbers could grow further by the time the market closes.
