Despite is role being anchoring the defense, Wangaya popped up with a goal and an assist, to cap off a perfect experience.

He joined AFC Leopards fast-rising attacker Hassan Beja and Lawrence Juma as players to have caught the eye in the North African country. Wangaya who remains without a club, clarified on is future saying:

"I am happy with my performances and the support the team gave me on and off the pitch. What I did on the pitch is there for all to see. I remain hopeful of getting offers," said Wangaya.

Wangaya says the team is destined for a bright future despite early elimination from AFCON. "This was the first time we were playing together. We began during the qualifiers, and some players were in the U18 team. I think if we continue being together, we'll achieve great things in the future."

Wangaya was part of the team at the CECAFA qualifiers in Tanzania in Decemder last year.
