Having begun his club football career at Synergy FC, the forward has since played for Mbarara-based side Nyamityobora FC, for whom he scored 15 goals before crossing to UPDF.

URA FC have signed UPDF FC striker Ivan Ahimbisibwe.

The striker was announced by the club Wednesday afternoon and signed a two-year contract.

“URA FC is delighted to announce that Ivan Ahimbisibwe has completed his move to the club on a two-year contract. The goal poacher joins us from Army side UPDF FC,” the club revealed.

Ahimbisibwe has established himself as a trusted goal-getter and led the scoring for UPDF in the last two seasons.

He has scored 10 goals in each of the last two seasons and was named the team’s Most Valuable Player last season.

Having begun his club football career at Synergy FC, the forward has since played for Mbarara-based side Nyamityobora FC, for whom he scored 15 goals before crossing to UPDF.

He now joins a URA FC forward line that already has newly signed Shariph Kimbowa and Ibrahim Dada.

Ahimbisibwe has been training with the Tax Collectors since the start of preseason and is said to have impressed before he was signed.

His first task will be helping URA get past KCCA FC in the FUFA Super 8 Tournament semi-final slated for Friday at the MTN Omondi Stadium.

The club confirmed: “He is expected to make his debut against KCCA FC in the FUFA Super 8 semi-final tie this Friday at the MTN Omondi Stadium.”

Moses Aliro, Denis Luzige Kisiriko, John Innocent Kisolo, Amis Bwangani, Ibrahim Wamannah, Enock Walusimbi and Godfrey Sekibengo are some of URA’s other new signings.
