The victory ensured that the Livingstone Mbabazi-coached side moved to 30 points in second, just three off table leaders BUL FC.

The latter had been held to a one-all stalemate by Mbarara City FC earlier on Saturday.

Meanwhile, it was the second successive victory for Mbabazi, who took over the reign about seven days back from the sacked Leonard Martins Neiva.

Under the floodlights on Sunday, the Venoms took the lead in the fifth minute through a well-struck shot by Kambale after being set by Yunus Sentamu.

They added a second in the 23rd minute with a close-range thunderbolt from Karisa following brilliant work from Kambale.

Substitute Lawal then rounded off a brilliant night from the spot after foul play in the forbidden area.

Vipers will now return to action on February 7, with a long trip to Adjumani to take on Arua Hill SC.

Meanwhile, Busoga United, 14th on the 16-team log with 15 points, will host NEC FC on February 11.
