Few players take the blame for a team's poor performance like Vipers forward Yunus Sentamu did after his side's 1-0 loss to Tanzanian giants Simba SC on Saturday at St. Mary's Stadium in Kitende.

The Venoms, who are playing in the group stages of the CAF Champions League for the first time, have managed only a point in three outings without scoring a goal, which has left them rooted to the bottom of the group.

Forward Yunus Sentamu seems to feel the fans' sentiments following his latest tweet where he opened up.

"You deserve better Vipers FC fans," he wrote on his official Twitter handle, tagging Vipers who also retweeted the post.

Sentamu was pivotal for the Venoms last season, scoring 16 goals as they won a fourth league title, but has struggled to have a consistent scoring run in the current league campaign, managing only six league goals so far.

The forward's goal drought stretches as far back as November 2022 when he last scored during Vipers' 2-0 league win over SC Villa.

Head coach Bianchi Beto, when quizzed on Saturday during the post-game press conference on when the goal-scoring drought will end, replied that as long as the players follow his instructions.

"I am only a coach. I guide the players on what they have to do to help the team. The rest is up to them, but I am positive we shall break the scoring drought."

Vipers will make the long trip to Arua to face Arua Hill SC, who lost 3-2 away to KCCA FC on February 24.
