The draw also marks the fifth game under new coach Beto Bianchi, without a win, also extending the club’s goal drought to six games across all competitions.

Champions Vipers SC produced another underwhelming performance as they played out a goalless draw against Wakiso Giants at the St Mary's Stadium in Kitende.

The result extended Vipers' dry run to six games without a win, four of which have come under new coach Beto Bianchi upon whom the spotlight now shines firmly.

The draw also marks the fifth game under new coach Beto Bianchi, without a win, also extending the club’s goal drought to six games across all competitions.

Four of these games have come under Bianchi's leadership, including two Uganda Cup games and two CAF Champions League games.

Wakiso Giants, on the other hand, had to face the game without three of their starters – Titus Ssematimba, Apollo Kagogwe and Ronald Madoi – who were representing the country at the AFCON U20 in Egypt.

Despite being depleted, the visitors were able to put up a solid performance and secure a point from the game with commendable performances from centre-back partners Ambrose Arinda and Paul Willa who was playing against his former side.

Vipers had a chance to take an early lead through Milton Karisa, but he was unable to convert a chilly pass from Bright Anukani just six minutes into the game.

The second half saw Vipers come out stronger, with new signing Tety Desire being introduced to replace Karim Ndugwa.

The Venoms had better rhythm and committed more players upfront, but they were still unable to convert their chances.

Ssentamu only found the side netting after a good link-up play with Tety, while Najib Yiga shot straight at the goalkeeper and Ibrahim Orit wasted a freekick.

Shariph Kimbowa had a chance to score for the Purple Sharks but failed to beat the goalkeeper Alfred Mudekereza.

The result puts pressure on coach Beto Bianchi ahead of their CAF Champions League home game against Simba SC.

The draw leaves Vipers in third place with 28 points after 15 games, while Wakiso Giants sit in fourth place with 26 points.
