Manchester City's Kevin de Bruyne talks about winning the Champions League and his legacy.

Manchester City's star midfielder Kevin de Bruyne has stated that his legacy will not be defined by winning or not winning the Champions League.

The 31-year-old midfielder will be expected to play from the start when Manchester City go against Inter in the Champions League final this weekend.

What De Bruyne said

The former Wolfsburg midfielder was part of the Manchester City squad that was beaten by Chelsea in the 2021 Champions League final.

The midfielder understands that winning the biggest prize in European football is important, but he maintains that it will have no bearing on his legacy.

De Bruyne argues that he has nearly 700 matches under his belt, stating that one match would not define his career.

"Will it help? Yes. But one 90 minutes doesn’t define a career,” he said about winning the Champions League, per 90 Mins.

"I am on around 700 games. One 90 minutes out of 700 doesn’t define my career. But obviously, it helps. We have performed really well. We have been in so many quarters and semi-finals and two finals. We have been there most of the time.

"I want to win the Champions League, and I want to win the treble. We should enjoy next week, and hopefully, we can perform the best we can."

Meanwhile, Manchester City are looking to sign Borussia Dortmund defender Raphael Guerreiro which could involve Sergio Gomez in a swap deal according to reports.
