Club president Hersi Said made the revelation while presenting the club revenue statistics at the annual general meeting at the Julius Nyerere International Conference Center in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, on Saturday.

It has been revealed that Tanzanian giants Young Africans SC raised up to Tsh7b, approximately UGX10b from sponsors last season.

Club president Hersi Said made the revelation while presenting the club revenue statistics at the annual general meeting at the Julius Nyerere International Conference Center in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, on Saturday.

“The club raised Tsh7b from our sponsors last season, who include main sponsor Sportpesa, Haier, Start TV, GSM Group, Spade Energy, CRDB Bank, UNICEF, Smile and Robbilac, and we thank them,” Hersi noted.

Hersi Said then urged the various club branch leaders to push for more fans registration drives next season to enable the club to achieve its goals for next season.

“I urge all the leaders to continue to find ways to increase income for our club, and we also ask our members to return to their branches and continue to motivate strongly and increase members and fans.”

“This will enable us to achieve our goals for the next season,” Hersi noted.

Young Africans, who have announced a new head coach in Argentine Miguel Angel Gamondi, hope to pick up from last season and perform better, especially in the CAF Champions League, where they expect to reach the group stages.

Tiimu ya Wanainchi’ also hopes to continue dominating the domestic scene, where they have won back-to-back trebles under former coach Nabi Nasreddine.

The green and yellow nation reached the CAF Confederation Cup final for the first time last season, losing to Algeria’s USM Alger.
