Sheilla Ankah and Rasheeda Muteesi are among the four players given a bye into the Nile Special Open Pool championship nationals.

Sheila Ankah will go into the 2023 Nile Special National Open as one of the favourites to win the top prize.

The Scrap Buyers player has earned her stripes over time from a small girl at the now-defunct Ronz Pool Club to the national level.

She is taking her chances this time around after testing herself in several battles in the past year.

“It has been a long time, and I’m eagerly waiting for the games to roll,” Ankah told Pulse Sports.

“I’m more than prepared to go and battle for the big prize this time round,” she adds.

Toughest competitor

However, Ankah’s thirst for top honours has been stopped on several occasions by another fierce and extremely talented player, Rasheeda Muteesi.

Both players have been given a bye from the qualifiers of the Open that is returning after five years.

“She has been tough, but I believe I’m ready for her this time. It’s going to be tough but I’m ready to drive away the top prize this time,” she added further.

Both players are looking for their first title in this championship as they target to throw off holders Ritah Nimunsiima.
