Goals by Clifton Miheso and Hassan Beja who scored his first goal in Ingwe colours was enough to get the Tomas Trucha-coached outfit back to winning ways.

AFC Leopards showed class to upstage Kakamega Homeboyz 2-0 in an FKFPL encounter played at the Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Goals by Clifton Miheso and Hassan Beja who scored his first goal in Ingwe colours was enough to get the Tomas Trucha-coached outfit back to winning ways,

A throw-in by Vincent Mahiga was cleared poorly before an attempt by an AFC Leopards player appeared to be held by Enock Masinza and cleared off the line, leaving the players shouting for calls.

Moments later, Homeboyz striker Moses Shummah received the ball from the left wing before flinging a diagonal ball towards Moses Mudavadi, but the captain headed the ball wide in the 14th minute.

In the 26th minute, Ambrose Sifuna missed a glorious chance when he found himself in a pocket of space inside the box, but his resultant attempt-cum cross was not enough for Shummah to get on the end of.

Abana Beingo then got another chance to go ahead moments later when Leopards keeper Levis Opiyo handled the ball outside his box, but the restaurant attempt by Masinza was hit wide.

Leopards finally took the lead in the 35th minute through Clifton Miheso after Cliff Nyakeya was brought down inside the box following a good sequence of interchanged passes, sending the Ingwe fans, who moments earlier threatened to storm onto the pitch citing poor refereeing decisions into frenzy.

Ingwe doubled their tally in the 38th minute through Hassan Beja who got on the end of a Maxwell Otieno low-drilled cross across goal right after he had been felled by Brian Buleti but got back up.

There was a temporary moment of confusion when Kakamega Homeboyz thought they had pulled one back from a set-piece right after the break, but the referee blew for a foul after Opiyo was fouled.

After moments where Leopards tried to hit Homeboyz on the break, the Kakamega outfit nearly pulled back when Hillary Otieno attempted a shot outside the box which Opiyo parried away for a corner kick.

Shummah did have another attempt saved just before getting subbed off when he received a ball from Estone Esiye and controlled it properly but his resultant attempt was not enough to beat Opiyo.

Homeboyz tried getting back through setpiece situations but could not find a way to get back and in the end, it was Ingwe who would be dancing away in celebration with all the points.
