Former AFC Leopards goalkeeper and assistant captain, Benjamin Ochan, maintains a positive outlook on the club's efforts to settle the outstanding payments owed to him.

Ochan, who played for Ingwe for two seasons, departed for Uganda's KCCA in September 2021 amidst the club's accumulated salary arrears.

While there was initial speculation that Ochan had written off the debt, the Ugandan custodian reveals that he has engaged in discussions with club officials and anticipates reaching an agreement soon.

"I have had chats with some officials in the club on issues about my payment. I am waiting to hear from them but I believe we will come up with an agreement," said Ochan in an exclusive interview with Pulse Sports.

Ochan also mentioned that his lawyer is awaiting communication from the club before deciding on the next course of action.

AFC Leopards recently served a two-window transfer ban due to their failure to compensate former players, including Vincent Habamahoro, Soter Kayumba, and Bienvenue Shaka, who resorted to filing disputes with FIFA.

This ban prevented the club from signing new players, forcing them to rely on their youth teams to bolster the squad.

However, with the current transfer window opening on June 26, Leopards will now have the opportunity to strengthen their roster.

Ochan, the Ugandan shot-stopper, initially joined AFC Leopards in July 2019, signing a one-year contract. He ultimately departed in September 2021 due to the financial difficulties faced by the club.
