BUL's last win came over five weeks back, a hard-fought 1-0 three points against neighbours and arc-nemesis Busoga United.

Three games without victory doesn't speak well of Uganda Premier League title challengers BUL FC.

They have since lost 2-1 to a struggling Gaddafi FC and drawn 1-1 and 0-0 against Mbarara City FC and KCCA FC, respectively.

The Eastern Giants now host a Soltilo Bright Stars FC team that has lost just once in their last five games at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru, later on Wednesday.

In their first-round encounter, BUL were narrow 1-0 victors thanks to Lawrence Tezikya's lone strike.

BUL head coach Abbey Bogere Kikomeko is cognizant of the immediate task ahead: "We come into this game knowing that Bright Stars has given us hard times in the previous campaigns," he told the club media.

"We drew 2-2 the last time we played home against them, but we beat them 1-0 at the start of this season,” he added.

“We now meet knowing they are coming to challenge us, given that they even won their last game."

Even with their indifferent run, BUL still lead proceedings with 33 points, one ahead of runners-up Kitara FC.

"However, since we are at home and on top of the table, we cannot afford to lose the opportunity of the three points.”

“We shall put in everything possible to win the game. The boys are in good shape, and the mood and character are also high, so we expect to win tomorrow.”

BUL must make do without injury absentees Douglas Muganga, Pascal Ngobi and Martin Aprem. Tezikya is out with accumulated yellow cards.
