The Abbey Bogere Kikomeko-coached has been beaten by the relegation-threatened UPDF FC 1-O at home, the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru on Tuesday, thanks to Hassan Zzinda.

Like it has been in the recent Uganda Premier League seasons, BUL FC continues to stamp the fact that they don't compete after the January bend.

After the first round, just as it was in the previous campaign, the Eastern Giants had been tipped by many to lead the chase for the championship.

And while they are far from dropping out of the race, the recent slump is pointing at past undeserved memories for BUL.

The Abbey Bogere Kikomeko-coached has been beaten by the relegation-threatened UPDF FC 1-O at home, the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru on Tuesday, thanks to Hassan Zzinda.

The result means BUL have only won one UPL match in the last seven games, a 2-1 over Soltilo Bright Stars FC on February 7.

In the second round, they won once in five, drawing three and suffering defeat on a single occasion.

Meanwhile, BUL are very much still in the race as they sit second with 39 points, just one off leaders Kitara FC.

However, Vipers SC, who are third with 35 points, have played two games fewer than the two.

On the other hand, UPDF, who have completed a league double over BUL, have ascended to 14th on the 16-team log with 16 points in 21 matches.

BUL will return to the fray on Friday against record holders SC Villa in Njeru, while UPDF will visit Vipers on April 5.
