Uganda Cranes legend David Obua enjoyed a hugely successful and illustrious playing career, and he is regarded by many as one of the finest Ugandan players ever.

However, it's South Africa's Kaizer Chiefs and Uganda Premier League's Express FC that crept in to steal Obua's heart.

"There are two clubs I love with all my heart and soul, and Express is one of them," the URA FC head coach said in a press interview on Thursday.

"It's the same way I love Kaizer Chiefs with all my heart and soul. I miss Wankulukuku because I had my best memories there with Express."

"Sometimes when I see them, I ask myself if these guys can come back and reignite, and if I die one side Express, another side Kaizer Chiefs, I'll be happy," he added.

"These clubs have a certain type of tradition that I love as a person. I love their fans because they supported me, treated me so well, and when I left Express, I went to Kaizer Chiefs."

Obua, who played for Express for two spells (2001-2002 and 2003-2005), made his final exit from Wankulukuku for Kaizer Chiefs.

As a Red Eagle, Obua won the Uganda Cup on a single occasion and scored 30 goals in 65 official appearances.

With the South Africans, he played from 2005 to 2008 before Hearts signed him under former Cranes head coach Laszlo Csaba.

"So many people treated me well at Express, Kirumira, Kiryowa Kiwanuka, coach Leo Adra and others, so it's emotional for me."

Ironically, Obua and his URA team are set to host Express at the Mehta Stadium, Lugazi, later on Friday, and the tactician will hope to nick victory over the love of his life.
