Dutch giant PSV are unhappy after being punished by UEFA for failing to control a fan who attacked Sevilla's goalkeeper during a UEL home game.

PSV punished

Despite a heavy punishment handed to the 20-year-old fan, who will not be seen around the Philips Arena for 40 years, UEFA has punished the Dutch side.

According to a statement from the club, UEFA has fined them 20, 000 euros and also closed down the stands from where the attack was made.

"UEFA imposes a fine of 20,000 euros on PSV for the incident with the field treper," the club said in the statement.

"The east stand must also be partially closed during the next home game in UEFA. In addition, PSV will be fined 9375 euros for throwing beer on the field."

Club reacts to UEFA

Following the decision to punish the club, PSV director Brand Marcel has reacted to what he describes as "annoying."

According to him, others do not have to pay for the misbehaviour of a fan.

"We find it very annoying that some of the PSV supporters are the victims of the misconduct of an individual. We are now going to try to recover the fine from him," Brands said per the club website.

Fan gets 40-year stadium ban for attack

The 20-year-old PSV supporter was already on a stadium ban before he punched Sevilla's goalkeeper and will now be banned until 2063.

PSV supporter Dylano K has been handed a 40-year stadium ban after he attacked Sevilla goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic during a Europa League game.

This incident happened during the Europa League knockout qualifier second leg clash between PSV and Sevilla at the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven.

PSV won 2-0 on the night but crashed out 3-2 on aggregate as Sevilla progressed to the Europa League round of 16.

However, things went from bad to worse for the home side when one of their supporters came onto the pitch in added time to attack Sevilla's Dmitrovic.
