Harambee Stars' Erick 'Marcelo' Ouma is set to join Rakow Czestochowa for a training camp in Turkey as defending Polish champions gear up.

Harambee Stars left-back Erick 'Marcelo' Ouma is set to make waves with his team Rakow Czestochowa as they gear up for an intensive training camp in Belek, Turkey.

The camp, commencing this Saturday, marks a pivotal moment for the team as they prepare for the highly-anticipated resumption of the Polish league.

The announcement was made by Rakow Czestochowa, revealing their plans to pitch camp in the picturesque destination of Belek until February 3.

In a statement released by the club, it was confirmed that 28 players will make their way to Turkey, including star player Ivi Lopez, who is expected to join the camp on January 27.

However, notable absentees from the training camp squad include Milan Rundić, Ben Lederman, Giannis Papanikolaou, Kamil Pestka, Fabian Piasecki, and Antonis Tsiftsis. These players are currently undergoing rehabilitation after surgery or engaging in transfer talks with other clubs.

A noteworthy addition to the training camp is the inclusion of four promising talents from the Raków Academy: Tobiasz Mras, Mateusz Białka, Maciej Ruszkiewicz, and Max Pawłowski, who will have the opportunity to learn from and train alongside the seasoned professionals.

During their stay in Turkey, Rakow Czestochowa has scheduled a series of friendly matches to fine-tune their skills and team cohesion.

The fixtures include clashes against Mura on January 24, Ludogorets on January 27, Maribor on February 1, and Dniprola on February 2. The exact venues for these matches are yet to be confirmed.

Erick 'Marcelo' Ouma, who made headlines with his multi-million transfer from Swedish side AIK, is expected to play a pivotal role in Rakow Czestochowa's quest for continued success.

The left-back joined the club in mid-January, adding depth and versatility to the team's defensive lineup.

Rakow Czestochowa currently holds the prestigious title of defending champions in the Polish top tier, the Ekstraklasa.

They clinched this title for the first time in the previous season and subsequently secured their place in the Champions League, marking a historic achievement for the club.

Ouma's commitment to the Polish side is evident through his three-year contract, with an option to extend for a further two years. This long-term partnership reflects the club's belief in his abilities and potential contributions to their future successes.

As the team embarks on their journey to Turkey for an intensive training camp, they are positioned fourth in the Polish top flight with 32 points, trailing the league leaders, Slask Wroclaw, by nine points, albeit with a game in hand.

Rakow Czestochowa's remarkable journey, which also saw them compete in the UEFA Europa League this season, has undoubtedly marked them as a formidable force in European football.
