Getafe head coach Jose Bordalas has clarified statements attributed to him over the loan transfer of Manchester United winger Mason Greenwood, where he claimed that the England international had been advised to join the LaLiga club by former international teammate Jude Bellingham.

Bellingham completed a sensational €113 million move to Real Madrid this summer, and has been a huge ambassador for English talent in LaLiga, but according to Bordalas, the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder had nothing to do with Greenwood joining Getafe.

Getafe coach Jose Bordalas has claimed that Real Madrid's Jude Bellingham was involved in bringing his 'friend' Mason Greenwood to Getafe.
Bordalas had initially claimed that Bellingham had been involved in persuading Greenwood who was his close friend, but according to the Athletic, the Real Madrid man’s management reached out to the Getafe coach to ask him to retract his statement about their client’s involvement in the deal.
Bellingham’s representatives apparently wanted to distance themselves from affiliating with Greenwood, who was charged with physical assault and violence in England before moving to Spain and asked the Getafe manager to put out a redaction of his earlier claims.
Bordalas forced to say the truth about Greenwood deal
As a result of the external pressure, Bordalas was forced to clarify his earlier statements as untrue, saying, “Firstly, I want to clear up a misunderstanding. I said Greenwood arrived because he spoke to Bellingham and that he encouraged him.
