The Harambee Stars defender had a solid individual display but could not do much to prevent his side losing their second game in a row late in the game ahead of the international break.

Johnstone Omurwa and his teammates were dealt a huge blow as Estrela Amaradora were beaten 1-0 by Moreinese thanks to a late Andre Luis goal at the Estadio Jose Gomes on Saturday night.

Although the towering Harambee Stars defender had a solid individual display, he could not do much to prevent his side losing their second game in a row late in the game ahead of the international break.

Clocking 90 minutes under his belt, Omurwa made two tackles and interceptions, winning two of his three attempted ground duels. He also made one clearance and one block.

He looked good in possession, producing an 87 percent pass accuracy, while also making one successful dribble in attempts to bring the ball out from the back.

The game largely comprised a lot of fouls by both sides that prevented the game from getting into any sort of meaningful rhythm, with the referee dishing out eight yellow cards all game.

He also dished out two red cards, one to Omurwa’s coach Sergio Vieira early in the game and another to Walison Luiz for a reckless challenge in stoppage time after going two-footed on Ronald.

The result means Estrela remain 11th on 11 points after 11 matches played. They will need to get back to winning ways quickly considering it was their second consecutive loss of the season, having lost to Sporting Lisbon a week earlier.
