The long list of KCCA returnees in the recent past also includes Allan Okello, Patrick Kaddu, Erisa Ssekisambu, Brian Majwega, Daniel Isiagi, Filbert Obenchan, Benjamin Ochan, and Muhammad Shaban, among others.

KCCA FC has continuously welcomed back its former players, the latest being Mustafa Kizza.

Kizza rejoined his previous club as a free agent until the end of the ongoing season following the mutual termination of his contract with Portuguese side FC Arouca.

And head coach Morley Byekwaso believes it is suitable for KCCA to provide its 'players' with a chance to rebuke themselves.

"We all know how important these players' careers are, and most of them have found it difficult when they leave, especially those that go professional," Byekwaso told Pulse Sports in an exclusive interview.

"I believe there is no better place for them to reset than to return here because they are accustomed to everything at this club."

"At times, some get back on track whereas others do not, but our role is to leave an open entrance for them to come and try again."

The majority come back on short-term deals and do not help the club in the long run, leaving the faithful wondering if both club and player benefit from each other during this period.

"It is to a greater extent done to help out the player; that is why for some players, these contracts are short," Byekwaso explained.

"But the club also benefits to a certain extent because some returning players are role models to the young players we have at the club."

"Sharing a pitch and a dressing room with your role model is exciting, and they get to learn a few things here and there which are beneficial going forward."

Byekwaso added: "But even directly, some are helpful to the team now, like Okello; he is one of the most influential players we have this season, and we hope that Kizza will also be a great addition to the team."

Some of these returning players have since left again, the likes of Kaddu and Ssekisambu, while Ochan, Obenchan, Majwega, Isiagi, and Shaban are still around, having returned permanently.

Meanwhile, Okello rejoined on a one-year loan from his parent club Paradou AC in Algeria.
