Man United enter race for Liverpool's Wolves target

Manchester United could rival Liverpool for Wolves' midfield asset, according to reports.

Wolves' Matheus Nunes has reportedly piqued the interest of Manchester United as they look to strengthen in midfield during the summer transfer window. 

The 24-year-old Portugal international has been alluring to many European clubs, with Liverpool repeatedly reported as keeping tabs on him. The Red Devils have now joined his list of suitors as Erik Ten Hag plans for the summer.

Football Insider reports that Manchester United are keeping tabs on Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes.

The Portuguese only recently signed for Wolves last summer from Sporting Lisbon for a club record £35 million fee, and is only months into a five-year contract, however, it is believed he will be allowed to leave in the next window should a suitable offer come in. 

He has made 32 appearances for the Wanderers since signing, scoring once and assisting once from midfield.

Liverpool have been heavily linked with the midfielder before and after his move to Wolves, and they are still expected to make a move for him next summer; however, they will reportedly face opposition from Manchester United, who are said to be looking to partner Bruno Fernandes with his compatriot. 

Meanwhile, According to latest reports, Liverpool have opened discussions with representatives of Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch as Jurgen Klopp aims to solve the midfield conundrum.

German outlet BILD, have reported that Jurgen Klopp sees Gravenberch as a cheaper alternative to Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.

Following months of speculation and firm media reports linking Liverpool with a move for Jude Bellingham, things have changed in recent days with the price point becoming way too high for the Reds to even consider. 

Klopp remains a huge admirer of Bellingham but has now been forced to look elsewhere.
