Legendary Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke has made a bold claim about Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s future with the Premier League club.

Former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke has claimed that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will not take long before making a sensational return to the club.

Klopp, who has been at Liverpool since October 2015, is set to leave the club at the end of the current season after announcing his decision to step down back in January, because he is “running out of energy.”

That has led to a lot of speculation over the possible candidates to replace him, or even Klopp’s next destination, but Yorke feels it will not be long before the maverick German returns to Anfield.

While analysing the blockbuster Premier League clash between Liverpool and Manchester City on beIN Sport on Sunday, presenter Richard Keys asked York if this is the last Klopp is being see in English football to which he responded: “In my opinion no. I want to make a bold statement.”

“I think he will return to Liverpool may be in a year or so or in two years’ time,” added Yorke.

Yorke then seemed to suggest Liverpool are likely to struggle without Klopp and will have to recall him to continue the brilliant job he has done in the last eight-and-a-half years.

“I just have a really sneaky feeling that is what he is going to do. When you look at the quality of managers that is out there, I do not think there is too many quality managers,” added the United legend.

Former Liverpool midfielder Jason McAteer weighed on the issue, saying such a decision would be tough on Klopp as he would have to find anew backroom staff given his current assistants Pepijn Lijnders and Peter Krawietz have already announced their intentions to go it alone.

“My worry for that is he would have to get the band back together and they are all going. Pepijn Lijnders is leaving, Peter Krawietz is leaving, sporting director is gone, a new one coming in. There is a lot for him to come back that he is going to need to do,” said McAteer.

Former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso, who is currently flying with Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen, and Sporting Lisbon coach Ruben Amorim, are among candidates reportedly being analysed by the Reds in a bid to replace Klopp.

Behind the scenes, Liverpool have also convinced former sporting director Michael Edwards to return to the club in a prominent position within Fenway Sports Group, which would see him lead football operations at the Premier League side and build a structure for Klopp’s successor.
