A number of players in the squad have been battling injuries but they are soon to return to action.

Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano is delighted to have been boosted by the return of seven players after a bout with injuries.

The seven players include Eric Mata, Ibrahim Joshua, Daniel Sakari, Fabian Adikinyi, John Njuguna, Charles Momanyi, and Tom Teka.

The former AFC Leopards boss is pleased that seven of his players are coming back from injury, which will give him a boost as he attempts to get his side to soar up the table.

“Our players are coming back from injuries. Ibrahim (Joshua) is coming, Sakari( Dan) was outside, Adikinyi Fabian suffered a knock, John (Njuguna) got a knock, Mmata (Erick) is coming back.

“Momanyi (Charles) will be back maybe next week but gradually. He still is recuperating from a knock. Around six or seven players are not around.

“Teka (Tom) is also coming back so you see now? We have the complete team and I think it will be okay.”

The Brewers beat Muhoroni 1-0 courtesy of a David Odoyo strike after forcing them to turn over possession, before initiating a sleek, efficient six-pass move that resulted into a goal.

Matano was pleased with the manner in which the goal was scored and has challenged his charges to continue with the same playing style.

“I want them to continue that way because football is about build up, attacking and also composure,” Matano said.

The Lion, who has been known to set up his teams to be defensively resolute, has recently embraced a more positive approach and wants his charges to make it “a habit” and “nature” to play football like that.

“We have to make it natural, we have to make it a habit, possession build up and vibrant attacking. That is the football we need and also we need calmness and togetherness.

“You see, my youngsters played very well (executing this style of football) on Saturday.”

The Brewers will face FC Talanta in their fourth match of the season this Saturday.
