With 10 rounds to wrap the campaign, the Uganda Cranes legend believes his team stand a chance and that they'll keep competing for the top prize till the final day.

Despite occupying seventh on the Uganda Premier League table, URA FC boss David Obua believes the team are still in contention for this season's championship.

After 19 games, the Tax Collectors have garnered 30 points, nine adrift of leaders Kitara FC.

With 10 rounds to wrap the campaign, the Uganda Cranes legend believes his team stand a chance and that they'll keep competing for the top prize till the final day.

"We are back into the race for the league title," Obua declared in the lead to their Friday game against second-placed BUL FC at the Mehta Stadium, Lugazi.

"We are competing for the title, and it's important to understand that URA doesn't just come to compete for places, but for the title."

"The log is very tight. Each game takes us to the main objective, and the game against tomorrow's opponents will be another Cup final that we feel we should win.”

In their last league game, URA were comfortable winners over Maroons FC, thanks to Enock Walusimbi and Norman Namanya.

"I believe we are going to win, and again, I want to win playing a certain type of way. You have to exert yourself with good football because that's why people are coming to watch us play," said Obua.

Meanwhile, his team suffered a Uganda Cup heartbreak on Monday, as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to KCCA FC. However, Obua feels the team has moved on.

"I'm so happy with the boys. The way they have trained after a disappointing game. Everyone is happy, and they are ready for the game tomorrow."

It should be recalled that Alex Kitata scored the only game as BUL edged URA 1-0 in this season's first encounter between the two in October last year.
