The former champions are enjoying an unbeaten run that stretches back to last season and will be confident of extending it when they face Muni at home.

Makerere University will be keen on tightening their grip on Group C of this season’s Pepsi University Football League when they host Muni University on Thursday at their playground.

The former champions are enjoying an unbeaten run that stretches back to last season and will be confident of extending it when they face Muni at home.

However, head coach Douglas Bamweyana is taking the game cautiously and not taking anything for granted.

"We face the game thinking that we have nothing won and the tie is to be decided, despite having good results that gives us advantage," he told the media.

"We must think as if we haven't won any game because anything can happen. We will go to win because we can’t think any other way," Bamweyana added.

“I watched Muni give Kyambogo a really hard time at home and thus can't take anything for granted. They have already shown that they have good players so too much confidence can be costly.” Bamweyana added.

However, Muni University head coach Ronnie Atiku insists the game is a chance to bounce back after their defeat to Kyambogo.

“I am fairly confident that we are going to pull it out of the bag against Makerere,” Atiku said.

“We have put our focus on this game and we have prepared and our concentration levels are high. If you watched the Kyambogo game it speaks volumes for my team.”

Makerere top proceedings with six points while Muni are at the base with one in two games. Kyambogo University and Ndejje sit second and third with four and two points, respectively.
