Odada was subbed on but he could not help Aalborg hold on to their 2-0 win against Sonderjyske with both sides settling for a 2-2 draw.

Harambee Stars midfielder Richard Odada featured as a substitute as Aalborg (AaB) blew a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with  Sonderjyske in a Danish second division clash that took place on Saturday evening.

Odada, who has scored four goals and registered three assists from midfield for the promotion hungry side, will be hoping he made enough of an impression to get back into the starting line-up for their next clash against Fredericia.

Within the first minute, Younes Bakiz tested Sonderjyske goalkeeper Nicolai Flo, and by the fourth minute, AaB took the lead 1-0. In a well-executed attack, Jubril Adedeji found Melker Widell, who assisted Mathias Jorgensen for a goal.

Several long shots from AaB were blocked, including an acrobatic scissor kick attempt by Maxime Soulas in the 18th minute. Both teams had attempts on goal until the 33rd minute when Sonderjyske kicked a drop ball into AaB's field.

In the 37th minute, Sonderjyske's Jose Gallegos tested Rody de Boer, but the Dutch goalkeeper made a save. Just before halftime, Lars Kramer's cross to Rasmus Thelander went over the goal. The half ended with AaB leading 1-0.

Early in the second half, Peter Christiansen and Mathias Jorgensen had near misses. AaB extended their lead to 2-0 in the 50th minute with Melker Widell scoring after pressure from Jubril Adedeji.

Gallegos attempted a shot in the 57th minute, but Rasmus Thelander blocked it.

However, Sonderjyske quickly equalised as Kristall Ingason scored in the 58th minute, making it 2-1. AaB's goalkeeper Rody de Boer made an unfortunate kick-out, but Sonderjyske's distant effort missed the target.

In the 73rd minute, Oscar Hiljemark made substitutions, including the introduction of Odada to try and see out the lead, but Sonderjyske equalised again in added time, ending the match in a 2-2 draw.

AaB are now in second place in the Danish second division with 42 points, one behind Sonderjyske.
