This gave the leaders Park a chance to extend their lead at the top of the table to eight points ahead of their game against Edgars Youth Programme and they indeed capitalized on the opportunity.

Matchday 14 of the BetPawa Futsal Super League commenced on Thursday with table leaders Park FC and second-placed Futbol Club of Luzira all involved.

Luzira entered the fray first at the Old Kampala Futsal Arena against Kampala Junior Team FC with the latter edging the former 4-3.

They drew first blood through Samuel Omara in the fourth minute but Joel Kizza restored parity for KJT in the seventh minute.

Jordan Ajuna put JKT in the lead for the first time in this game in the ninth minute before Joel Kizza extended their lead in the 17th minute for his second on the evening.

At the restart of the second half, Arafat Ssentongo pulled a goal back for Luzira before Kizza completed his hat-trick.

This gave the leaders Park a chance to extend their lead at the top of the table to eight points ahead of their game against Edgars Youth Programme and they indeed capitalized on the opportunity.

Park came from a goal down to win the contest 4-2 on the night.

Edgars struck first through Derrick Male before Shafiq Mulangira equalized for Park who turned it around before halftime thanks to Samuel Kalyango’s goal.

Derrick Walugembe netted a brace in the second half for Park before Amos Wabwire scored a consolation for Edgars.

Victory took the unbeaten Park’s points tally to 38, eight points ahead of Luzira who are on 30 points after both teams have played 14 games.

In the final game of the day, Kisugu FC also defeated Mengo City FC 4-2 to move into the fifth position on the 12-team log with 23 points.

The other bunch of games on matchday 14 will be played on Friday, Kisenyi FC have a chance to leapfrog Luzira in the second position with a win over Lubaga Grameen.

Kawempe FC will be hoping for a maiden victory when they face Kabowa Dream Team FC while Nansana Aska FC will entertain Aidenal FC.
