Ssenkaaba broke the deadlock earlier on in the 14th minute with a calmly taken strike to give Kitara hope for progress.

Later in the 66th minute, Omedi doubled the lead through a brilliantly struck free-kick to seal a spot for Kitara in the Round of 16.

The score didn't quite represent the hosts' dominance as the likes of Frank 'Zaga' Tumwesigye, Brian Aheebwa, and Ssenkaaba missed other huge opportunities.

On the other hand, Gaddafi's biggest chances came from Baker Buyala and David Bagoole, but goalkeeper Jamil Kiyimba denied the former, while the latter missed the target by inches.

In the Last 16, Kitara joins Vipers SC, Young Simba FC and Police FC, who progressed on Thursday.
