AFC Leopards, facing financial woes, aims to revamp fans' experience by launching a new ticketing system.

Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) giants AFC Leopards are gearing up for a transformative change in how fans attend their matches.

In response to dwindling gate collections and mounting financial pressures, the club's National Executive Committee, led by Chairman Dan Shikanda, has unveiled plans to introduce an innovative E-Ticketing system, revolutionizing the matchday experience for their devoted supporters.

The move comes after a series of disappointing gate collections during the current season, leaving many questioning the financial health of the club.

Concerns were raised regarding foul play, but AFC Leopards is determined to tackle the issue head-on and restore confidence among its loyal fanbase.

Before their recent away match against Kenya Police, AFC Leopards faced a stark reality when only 1,028 fans turned up for the clash with Muhoroni Youth.

Out of these, 41 opted for the VIP experience, purchasing tickets priced at Ksh500 each, while 987 chose the regular tickets priced at Ksh200, resulting in a total gate collection of Ksh217,900 for the day.

This figure pales in comparison to the Ksh615,700 they amassed on matchday one when they hosted FC Talanta, with a staggering 2,849 tickets sold.

In an official statement released by the club, they announced, "The club management is excited to announce that starting from our upcoming home match against Shabana on September 30, 2023, fans will now have the convenience of purchasing match tickets online through our E-Ticketing system.”

The statement went on to highlight the convenience and efficiency of the new system, emphasizing its role in ensuring fans secure their spot at the heart of the action.

"Not only does it make attending our matches more convenient, but it also contributes to a safer and more streamlined entry process," the statement added, encouraging all fans to embrace this technological advancement.

"AFC Leopards remains committed to delivering an exceptional football experience to our supporters, and this technological advancement is a step forward in that direction," the statement continued.

The decline in gate revenues has led to growing concerns among fans who have started questioning the technical bench led by Tom Juma.

The pressure on Juma and his fellow members of the technical bench has reached new heights as AFC Leopards endure a dismal start to the 2023/24 season.

Despite the revenue struggles, there have been no reports of fake tickets. However, concerns about the diligence of stewards who sometimes allow unauthorized individuals to enter without paying have been raised.
