Terem Moffi was only able to play 15 minutes against his old club Lorient as they drew against Lorient
The Terem Moffi derby between Lorient and Nice ended in a 1-1 draw, with the Super Eagles forward unable to affect the match after coming on as an 83rd-minute substitute.
Moffi returns to Lorient
Moffi joined Nice on loan from Lorient in the January 2023 transfer window and completed a permanent transfer this summer in a €22.5 million move.
The Nigerian forward was superb for both clubs during the 2022/23 season, scoring 12 goals in 18 games for Lorient and nine in 20 for Nice after his January move.
Moffi was unable to start for Nice against his old club after picking up an injury in the opening game of the new season against Lille.
Nice and Lorient play out draw
Moffi was ably replaced in the starting line up for Nice by Evann Guessand who opened the scoring for Nice midway through the second half before coming off for the Nigerian forward with seven minutes of normal time left.
Lorient substitute Sirine Doucoure scored just six minutes after coming on to rule out Guessand’s goal and eventually earn the home side a 1-1 draw.
The 1-1 result leaves both sides with two points each from their opening two games as they record back-to-back draws.
With Moffi already playing after his injury in the opening match, he could be in line to start Nice’s next game when they take on Lyon.
