UCL: Raphinha breaks Messi record in 3-3 draw, moves closer to Ballon d'Or

Barcelona star Raphinha enhanced his case for the Ballon d'Or with another excellent performance, surpassing Lionel Messi's previously held record.

Raphinha etched his name into Barcelona’s history books by breaking a club record previously set by the legendary Lionel Messi during the UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg against Inter Milan on Wednesday night.

In a thrilling 3-3 draw at Catalunya’s Olympic Stadium, the Brazilian winger delivered a masterful performance, scoring a goal and providing an assist to help Barcelona claw back from a 2-0 deficit against the Serie A giants.

The 28-year-old sparked Barcelona’s comeback in the 38th minute with a perfectly cushioned header, setting up Ferran Torres to slot home from close range for the team’s second goal. This assist marked Raphinha’s eighth in the Champions League this season, complementing his 12 goals in just 13 appearances.
