KCCA have now lost in the league to each of BUL FC (1-0), Maroons FC (2-1) and Express, leaving them languishing in the relegation zone (14th), with no single point.

Thirteen-time Uganda Premier League champions KCCA FC suffered a third successive defeat in the league with Express FC the punishers.

The latter beat the Kasasiro Boys 2-1 at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Sunday, thanks to goals from Derrick Ngoobi and Isaac Wagoina.

In-form striker Muhammad Shaban salvaged KCCA's only consolation, in what was also their second successive home defeat.

Muhammad Shaban scored KCCA's consolation

On the day, it's the guests that drew first blood with Ngoobi heading in an Isma Kawawulo corner in the 24th minute.

KCCA then found the leveler at the half-hour mark as Shaban instinctively headed in an Usama Arafat cross.

Express nearly made it 2-1 in the 41st minute but Andrew Kawooya was denied by a brilliant Derrick Ochan save.

The second stanza seemed even until the 80th minute as new signing Wagoina beat Ochan to make it 2-1 for Express.

That came seven minutes after kcca were denied by the crossbar, as substitute Ettiene Katenga attempted to score.

KCCA will now have a daunting task of beating Kitara FC away in Masindi in their next match on October 20.

A day later, fourth-placed Express (seven points) will play hosts to Soltilo Bright Stars FC at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
