URA endured a bad start to the season, winning only two of their opening 14 matches but has been on a good run of late with five victories in their last six games.

Coach Sam Timbe is now a relieved man following URA’s recent good form and believes the team is now back on the rail.

As it has been in recent seasons, the Tax Collectors have been labelled a mid-table team with mediocre results that don’t reflect the investment.

The team endured a bad start to the season, winning only two of their opening 14 matches but has been on a good run of late with five victories in their last six games.

“It was a tough and very competitive match but I thank the players for putting in their best,” Timbe said after their 2-1 win over Wakiso Giants on Wednesday at the Mekhta Stadium in Lugazi.

“We are in the right direction and we need to keep winning. The title is still a marathon, yet we have some work to do to take URA where it’s supposed to be.”

Apologies

Said Kyeyune and Livin Kabon scored for URA while Shariph Kimbowa pulled one from the spot. The win was their first since returning to Lugazi.

The coach also had the courtesy to apologise to the club’s loyal fans from Lugazi after that disappointing 2-1 loss to Busoga United on their returning debut.

“We apologize for losing the first game but the boys worked hard and bounced back. We promise better,” He added.

The win lifted the Tax Collectors to fifth on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table with 29 points, just one behind BUL in third.
