And while they may not have provided a perfect evening, he can take solace for an improved and promising performance that saw his side create the better chances over 90 minutes.

Vipers made it four consecutive games in all competitions without scoring a goal with another underwhelming goalless draw against AC Horoya in the CAF Champions League at the St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

Head coach Beto Bianchi was optimistic of a reaction from his side as they played in front of their home fans for the first time in the CAF Champions League.

And while they may not have provided a perfect evening, he can take solace for an improved and promising performance that saw his side create the better chances over 90 minutes.

Bright Anukani provided the spark for much of their attacking potent, playing through Israel Desire Tety on goal, only for the forward to fail to control the ball.

Anukani once again teed up captain Milton Karisa, but he too failed to get to the ball, as it trickled through to the goalkeeper.

However, as the Guinean champions grew into the contest, the hosts became more ponderous and showed their frailties.

Alfred Mudekereza nearly produced another horror episode as he dropped a freekick at the feet of striker Pape Ndiaye, but defender Murushid Juuko was on hand to clear after him.

Mudekereza though did not face as much threat at his goal, but stood up whenever called upon. But he was left completely helpless when Ndiaye’s free kick caught him out, only to be saved by the upright.

Vipers has now collected only one point from two games played, while Horoya momentarily goes top of group C on four points, with Simba SC playing Raja Casbalanca in Tanzania later on.

The Venoms return to action on Tuesday with a home games against Wakiso Giants.
