Livingstone Mbabazi's charges will move to 30 points with a win, and that will make it just three adrift of leaders BUL FC.

Vipers SC will hope to round off the first round of the Uganda Premier League against Busoga United on Sunday at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

It's expected to be all fangs out for the Vipers with full focus on picking maximum points, as victory could have them ascend to second.

Livingstone Mbabazi's charges will move to 30 points with a win, and that will make it just three adrift of leaders BUL FC.

The latter dropped points on Saturday after a one-all stalemate with Mbarara City FC at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.

In his first game in charge of the Venoms on Wednesday, Mbabazi, after beating NEC FC 4-1, thanks to a Fumador Asiwome hat-trick and one from Yunus Sentamu.

Meanwhile, it doesn't promise an easy one against Busoga United, who have picked points off giants Kitara FC and KCCA FC already this season.

Vipers boast a much superior head-to-head, with nine wins in the past 13 meetings since 2016, when Busoga joined the Uganda Premier League.

Only two victories have come Busoga’s way in that time, while the other two ended in stalemates.

At the St Mary's Stadium, Kitende, last season, on their way to the 2022/23 title, the Vipers were 5-0 winners, thanks to an Abubakar Lawal brace and one apiece from Sentamu, Bright Anukani and Martin Kizza.
