Among the players on their way out are Bashir Asiku, Frank ‘Zaga’ Tumwesigye, and Ibrahim Orit, who have reportedly been released by Vipers.

Uganda Premier League champions Vipers Sports Club are gearing up for a series of player departures during the current transfer window.

According to several players, both fringe and established names, will be bidding farewell to the St. Mary's Stadium in Kitende kickstarting an intense speculation as the transfer window opens.

Among the players on their way out are Bashir Asiku, Frank ‘Zaga’ Tumwesigye, and Ibrahim Orit, who have reportedly been released by Vipers.

Additionally, the club's Congolese imports Rodriguez Shamamba, Gracia Mpongo Mbombo, Serge Robert Mwenge, and Darcy Mbaka Kipoyi are also set to be shown the exit.

The exits join Disan Galiwango, who has already announced his exit from the club through a heartfelt post on his social media.

"With a heavy heart, I announce my departure from Vipers FC and would like to express my gratitude to the team and fans,” Galiwango posted on Twitter.

“It has been a great stay filled with unending support, skills growth, strong bonds, and many achievements. Thank you for everything."

Galiwango joined Vipers SC from Express FC in 2020. He has experienced a successful tenure at the club, winning two league titles and two Stanbic Uganda Cup trophies during his time with the Venoms.

However, he struggled for playing time in the previous season due to stiff competition from teammate Isa Mubiru.

Zaga leaves the club after 18 months following his return to his boyhood club in January 2022. His return has been less glorious, playing only 14 league games, scoring no goals.

Forward Orit, signed from Mbarara City in 2020, will also be leaving the five-time league champions, after choosing not to extend his stay beyond the three-year contract he signed while joining the club.

Another player facing an exit is central defender Asiku, a product of St. Mary's Secondary School team, which serves as the feeder for Vipers' senior team.

Vipers SC made history last season by becoming the fourth side to achieve the Cup double, clinching both the Uganda Premier League title and the Uganda Cup.

Vipers SC fans will be eagerly anticipating the club's next moves as they look to reinforce their squad and continue their pursuit of success on the domestic and continental fronts.
