Matchday three and four will pit both clubs against each other, with Vipers hosting the first leg on 25th February before Simba hosts the return leg on March 7.

Having enjoyed successful spells with both Vipers SC and Simba Sc, Taddeo Lwanga's opinion on either club would pass as good advice.

The combative holding midfielder, now at Djibouti Premier League side Arta Solar, spent two seasons at Vipers, captaining them to the 2016/17 Ugandan league title before moving to Simba, where he won a domestic treble in 2021.

Lwanga reveals that the next CAF Champions League games, a double-header between Vipers and Simba SC, will determine how far they either can go, adding that whoever wins both games will revive their CAF Champions League campaign.

"According to me, to stand a chance of qualifying out of the group stages,” Lwanga noted, adding; “You have to win all your home games compared to the away games because when you play away it is a different environment.”

"The doubleheader will be crucial for either team to revive their chances. Because whoever wins in Kampala and Dar-es-Salaam will get six points, and that is massive then they will be good to go.”

Matchday one saw both clubs get off to a losing start away from home with Simba losing 1-0 to Horoya while Vipers were baptized with a 5-0 drubbing in Morocco against Raja Casablanca.

Matchday two saw Simba lose 3-0 at home to Raja while the Venoms played out a goalless draw at Kitende.

Matchday three and four will pit both clubs against each other, with Vipers hosting the first leg on 25th February before Simba hosts the return leg on March 7.

Raja Casablanca tops group C on six points with Horoya two points behind, while Vipers and Simba complete the standings with one point and no points, respectively.
