The restrained and reflective coach had previously led his team to a resounding 3-0 victory on matchday one against Wakiso Giants.

Maroons FC's head coach, Mohammed Senfuma, is optimistic, believing his team will rebound after settling for a 1-1 draw with SC Villa in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League on Sunday at Luzira Stadium.

The restrained and reflective coach had previously led his team to a resounding 3-0 victory on matchday one against Wakiso Giants.

Despite the draw, Senfuma asserts that it was regrettable to lose their lead, but they will develop from the experience.

"We executed well but struggled to maintain our lead. Our defence, especially during the equaliser, was lacking, but I remain untroubled," remarked Senfuma. "Correcting our mistakes is crucial for our advancement, especially since our next match against KCCA FC is pivotal."

Sharpshooter Fred Amaku inaugurated the scoring at the hour mark, marking his first for the season, only for centre-back Arnold Odongo to equalise five minutes later.

For Amaku, scoring couldn't have been timelier, providing ample motivation, as noted by Senfuma.

"Amaku scoring is a positive step; he must keep delivering as we rely on his goals. This achievement will propel him forward, and we anticipate his continued scoring streak."

Expectations are high for Maroons to elevate their performance when they face the Kasasiro Boys in their return to league action on Tuesday, 3rd October 2023.

Maroons, fresh from a convincing 3-0 victory over Wakiso Giants in their previous game, aimed to maintain their momentum. SC Villa, on the other hand, was seeking redemption following their opening day defeat to Kitara.

Conversely, KCCA FC is under pressure to secure maximum points following their initial season defeat to BUL FC.

Before their clash with Maroons, Sergio Traguil's team faces the formidable challenge of ousting Abu Salim SC to progress to the CAF Confederation Cup group stages, a feat unachieved since 2017.

The Libyan side secured a 3-1 victory in the first leg in Tunisia, with the decisive return leg scheduled for Saturday, 30th September.

The unfolding events underscore the intense competition and the interplay of strategy, skill, and resilience, aspects integral to the essence of the sport.

The upcoming encounters are poised to be a testament to the teams' preparedness and resolve to claim victory, spotlighting the unfolding dynamics of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
